Health and Social Care Course Level 3

Students on our Health and Social Care online coursea can complete a OTHM Level 3 foundation diploma in Health and Social Care (60 credits), designed to provide students with the skills needed to succeed in the care and support industry.

The course is completed online and you can start at any time, it’s completely flexible. Each module consists of 40 hours of guided online learning, with an additional 30-50 hours worth of optional materials that include recommended exercises, readings, digital resources and self-test tasks.

To complete the course you’ll submit 6 online assignments at each level, and assignments are approximately 2,000-3,000 words each. Once you’ve passed your course, you’ll be awarded with an OTHM Foundation Diploma and you’ll be able to progress to a bachelor’s degree at a range of UK universities.

This OTHM Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care has 6 Mandatory Units:

Responsibilities of a Health and Social Care worker (10 credits)

This unit aims to help learners understand the roles and responsibilities in various health and social care settings, as well as the knowledge needed to foster effective working relationships and partnerships in these environments.

Personal and Professional Development in Health and Social Care (10 credits)

This unit aims to help learners understand personal development and reflective practice in health and social care roles. It highlights the importance of ongoing learning and reflection to maintain skills and improve performance.

Effective Communication and Ethical Practice in Health and Social Care (10 credits)

This unit explores the importance of communication in health and social care, focusing on meeting individual needs and preferences. It also covers good practice in equality, diversity, and rights within these settings.

Health, Safety and Wellbeing in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits)

This unit equips learners with the knowledge and skills to promote health and safety in the workplace and addresses safeguarding, including identifying types of abuse and their signs.

Person-centred Approaches in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits)

This unit helps learners understand how to implement and promote person-centred approaches, focusing on the individual and their abilities rather than their condition or disability.

Effective Handling of Information in Health and Social Care Settings (10 credits)

This unit covers confidentiality and ethical practices in managing information, focusing on good practice in recording, sharing, storing, and accessing data.

The Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care online course has 6 written assignments. The assignments are approximately 2,000-3,000 words each. Students are provided support on the modules and assignments via the ‘Tutor’ section of the learning platform.

Am I eligible for this Level 3 foundation diploma in Health and Social Care programme?

To enrol in our Level 3 Health and Social Care course, you must be at least 16 years old and have a full secondary education.

If you don’t have a full secondary education or the equivalent, you may also be able to enrol based on your work experience.

Cost and payments

• Level 3 foundation diploma in Health and Social Care (60 credits): £2,500

Enrol with a £20 deposit and then £103.33 a month for 24 months, interest-free.
